Live Bait
Sand Crab (Mole Crab)
The single most productive surf bait on the Central Coast. Dig them from the wash zone with a small rake or your hands right where you're fishing, freshest bait always outfishes anything from a bag.
How to Rig It
Hook through the tail from the underside, with the point exiting the top shell. Soft-shelled crabs, just after molting, work best.
Storage
Keep cool and damp in wet sand, use within a few hours for best results.
