Pried fresh off rocks and pilings right at the jetty, it doesn't get more local than this. Soft, so it tears off the hook faster than crab or shrimp, check it often.

How to Rig It

Peel a small chunk of the orange meat and thread it onto the hook, leaving some hanging loose for scent.

Storage

Keep on ice, use fresh mussels within a day for the best scent and hook-holding.
